The
Internship Application Process
How
Far In Advance Should You Apply?
To increase the chances of finding an internship, you should
apply between 2 to 4 months before you want to start your
internship. However we STRONGLY
recommend you apply closer to 4 months in advance of your
desired internship start date.
It
should be noted that last minute applications are possible,
but your options may be limited.
Information
That We Need
To start the process of arranging an internship we need to
receive a letter from you that contains
the following:
- A
description of the type of internship you are looking for
- Your
desired dates of participation
- Your
country of interest
- Why
you are interested in an internship
- A
detailed resume
- An
overview of your Spanish language skills
Once
we receive your application materials, this information is
sent to the location where you want to intern (Costa Rica,
Ecuador, Mexico). At that point our onsite director will contact
our various cooperation partners to find out what is available.
Following that you will receive a proposal regarding your
desired internship.
Internship
Requirements
In order to participate in an internship you must possess
good Spanish language skills. Additionally you must be able
to commit to participate in the internship for at least 3
months (12 weeks).
Practical
experience in your desired field, excellent Spanish language
skills, enrollment in a Spanish language course and a longer
internship duration increase the chances of finding an internship
for you.
Spanish
Language Skills
If you do not currently possess the necessary Spanish language
skills, it is possible to acquire them through the participation
in one of our Spanish language programs.
If
you want to brush up on your skills prior to the start of
your internship, we can also set up a general Spanish language
program for you. Additionally if you desire we can arrange
a specialized Spanish language program (Business Spanish,
Medical Spanish, etc.).
Specialized
Spanish language courses are offered in a private class setting.
