Internship Accommodation Options

Overview
Most people who participate in an internship opt for one of the accommodations offered by Academia Columbus. At all locations we offer host family accommodations. Additionally in Costa Rica and Mexico we can arrange apartments.

For those who prefer their own accommodations that is not a problem. Our Spanish language centers are close to hotels that fit any budget.

Living With A Host Family
You will stay with one of our carefully selected host families. Host families generally live very close to our Spanish language centers AND are also very centrally located within the city. This means you will have access to our facilities while at the same time you will be close to all the sights of interest within the city itself.

You will receive your own private bedroom, half board (breakfast & dinner) and laundry service (once per week). When you stay with a local host family you will have a great opportunity to practice your Spanish while at the same time learning about the local culture. Many interns form friendships with the host families that last long after the internship has ended.

Students are free to bring along their friend to live with the host family. Please note any special dietary needs (if you are a vegetarian, for example) and allergies when you register, so that your host family can accommodate these.

Living In An Apartment
For those who prefer not to stay with a host family, Academia Columbus can arrange apartment stays in Costa Rica and in Mexico. Apartments are basic but nice. They are furnished and are close to both the Spanish language school and all sights of interest within the city. In most cases these apartments are also used by students participating in the Spanish language school. You will receive a private room, but will share common areas with others in the apartment.

Getting To Your Accommodations
Upon arrival at the airport (San Jose - Costa Rica, Quito - Ecuador, Cancun - Mexico) we will have a driver to meet you and take you to your selected accommodations.

Extras
Our clients who book an internship with accommodation can participate in the recreational program of the Spanish language school free of charge. This is a great way to learn more about the country while at the same time meeting more people.
