Overview
A critical part of any Spanish immersion program is the opportunity to learn about the culture and see various sites of interest. As such our Spanish language school in Quito, Ecuador integrates these activities into our various Spanish language programs.
Each
week our Spanish center has an extensive array of things to
do and things to see for our Spanish students. Participation
is voluntary, but you will find that these cultural activities
are very popular. Either way, you can pick and choose which
activity you want to participate in.
After
your first day of Spanish classes are over on Monday, we take
all new students on a city tour of Quito. You will
see or learn about all the important features of the town
including transportation, ATM locations, shopping, etc.
Here Are Just Some Of The Activities Offered

Dance
classes:
Always one of the most popular activities offered at the Spanish language school.
With our dance instructors you will learn some of the more popular dancing styles in Ecuador (salsa and merengue).

Cooking
classes:
This is another popular class offered at the Spanish language school. The focus will be on typical Ecuadorian dishes.

Lectures:
This lectures cover both Ecuadorian and Latin American topics. Topics include culture, history, politics and more

Fiestas:
During the month the Spanish school will have at least
one fiesta. The format is in a typical Ecuadorian style and
includes music, dancing, traditional foods, and drinks.

Enjoy a relaxing movie with other students near the school.
Examples Of Some Of The More Popular Trips Arranged

Otavalo:
One of the most famous Indian market towns in South America. Located north of Quito, Otavalo hosts a market every Saturday of the year. Both locals and tourists take advantage of the hundreds of stands in the market which sell everything from chickens to hand woven rugs.

Papallacta:
A series of hot springs in the Andes located a couple hours outside of Quito in a beautiful valley. The valley itself is about 11,000 ft above sea level, and while sitting in the hot springs you will have wonderful views of the surrounding area.

Cotopaxi:
An impressive national park located around the famous Cotapaxi Volcano. The park is home to a wide range of plant and animal species. For those interested in in great shape it is possible to hike the 18,700 ft volcano. However most only go as high as the mountain station located at 15,800 ft.

Saquisili:
Another famous Indian market town. If you want a true Ecuadorian market experience, this is the market to hit. It is much more traditional in nature compared to the market in Otavalo.

Baños:
To visit this quaint little village will require a full weekend. Located high in the Andes at the foot of the 16,500 ft Tungurahua Volcano, Baños offers both indoor and outdoor activities. Stop by the waterfalls, do a bike tour, or ride by horseback through the valleys in the areas.

of what you can see and do in and around Quito.
