Cultural
Activities & Weekend Trips
 Overview
When
you participate in one of our Spanish language immersions
programs, you will do more than just studying and learning
Spanish.
We
feel that a critical part of any Spanish program is the cultural
component. As such each week Academia Columbus offers our
students a variety of interesting cultural activities and/or
trips. The list of activities changes each week to keep things
interesting.
Cultural
activities and trips take place AFTER
your Spanish classes. In most cases they take place in mid
to late afternoon. Trips on the weekend sometimes take a full
day, but in many cases run during the full weekend.
What
are some of the things you can expect to see or do?
- Cooking
classes
- Dancing
classes (Salsa)
- Discussions
about the culture
- Visits
to local festivals
- Visits
to historic sites of interest
- Visits
to national parks
- Visits
to local markets
- A
night out on the town
- And
much more!
Most
of the cultural activities are included in the cost of your
Spanish language program. When something does have a cost
associated with it, the cost is typically associated with
the cost of transportation and entrance fees.
During
the weekends our Spanish schools will arrange or help to arrange
trips to places outside of the city where you are taking your
Spanish program.
We
want you to study and learn Spanish. However we also want
you to discover the magic that is Costa Rica, Ecuador or Mexico!
