Academia Columbus has a Spanish language school in the charming town of Santo Domingo de Heredia, Costa Rica. This area of Costa Rica is referred to as the Central Valley. The town itself is part of the metropolitan area of San Jose, which is the capital of Costa Rica. Santo Domingo de Heredia has a small town traditional feel to it. Yet from our Spanish school you are only 10-15 minutes away from downtown San Jose. So with this location you can the benefits of a small town feel, yet have all the amenities of a large metropolitan area. In the immediate area you will find rainforests, volcanoes, rivers and more. We like to think most sites of interest within Costa Rica are just a short distance away, and as such Heredia is an ideal jumping off point.
Today our Spanish language school is located in a modern and comfortable building which is situated in a quiet neighborhood area. You will find well lit and comfortable classrooms, a break area, outdoor patios, a large courtyard, and a full kitchen for cooking classes. Additionally

for our Spanish language students.

Spanish

group Spanish classes have a maximum of 5 students per class
which help to make sure you learn Spanish in a quick and effective
manner.

 Santo Domingo de Heredia is a small town that is part of the San Jose metropolitan area. It is located between Heredia and San Jose, which we believe is an ideal location. The town maintains a small town character to it, but residents actually have access to all the activities and amenities that a large city offers.
From a Spanish immersion standpoint, the city is a perfect destination. Within the town you will not find an abundance of tourists. This means you have plenty of opportunities to experience what Costa Rica is all about! Santo Domingo de Heredia is a town that maintains its charming and typical Costa Rican atmosphere.
Another advantage of staying in this area is that you will find easy access to the rest of Costa Rica. All major roads in the country spread out from this area. That means that in a just a few hours you can be on the Caribbean, the Pacific, get all the way up to the border with Nicaragua, and everything in between!
