 Overview
Academia Columbus provides our Spanish students a variety of affordable accommodation options in Heredia. So not only do you get the type of Spanish program you want to study and learn Spanish in, but you can select the perfect type of accommodations as well. The following is an overview of your
various options.
The
Shared Apartment Option
With this option you will be placed into and apartment with 2 or 3 bedrooms. This option also allows you to choose between a single or double room. The apartments and kitchens are fully furnished (washing machines are included). You will be completely self sufficient with this accommodation option. The apartments are cleaned once per week. Your bedding will be changed at that time as well. Students are required to bring or purchase (from a store) their own bath towels. All apartments have TV's and some have a small garden area. These apartments are typically just a 20-25 minute walk to the Spanish language school.
Host Family Option
A large percentage of our Spanish students opt to stay with one of the local host families nearby the Spanish school. With this option you will receive a single room (private) along with either 2 or 3 meals per day (you select at the time of registration). Laundry service one time per week is also provided..
Staying with a local Costa Rican family is a great way to learn
and improve your Spanish. Additionally staying with one of
our families will help to give you a perspective on the rich
Costa Rican culture.
If
you are traveling with a friend or partner we can arrange
for the two of you to stay together with the same host family.
Host families can also accommodate certain dietary requirements
such as vegetarians may have etc.
Private
Apartment Option
Some Spanish want complete privacy during their stay in Costa Rica. If that is your situation, the the private apartment options is the perfect choice. These are fairly large and comfortable apartments located within a 25 minute walking distance to the Spanish school. The apartments have at least one bedroom, and include a kitchen, living room, TV and washing machine. Students will need to supply their own bath towels. The apartments are cleaned once per week. At that time bed linen is changed as well.
